I bought a 98 blazer 4.3l 4x4 about a year ago and the transmission died after coming back from the mountains about a month ago. Due to some financial constraints and only being able to work on my car on the weekends I am looking to swap out the transmission. I found a 2004 Chevy blazer ls 4x4 and a 1998 Chevy k1500 4x4 transmission, both at sub 100k miles, will either fit and work right off the bat in my blazer? I've checked some forums and asked some mechanics in my area and have gotten a mix of answers of yes, no or only the same gen and model. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
