Default 98 Blazer Issues

So I have a 1998 Chevy Blazer 4x4...It starts fine..However when you put it in gear and give it gas nothing happens, even if you put in reverse it doesn't go anywhere, just revs the engine...When you put in neutral and try to push or pull or tow it, the back wheels just drag, like there locked up...I've checked the transmission fluid, seems fine, I've had the back brakes checked doesn't appear to be locked up...Not sure what else it maybe, any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance...

In nuetral you should be able to push it or pull it. Have you jacked up the rear end with it in nuetral and spun the tires? I would guess either there is a transmission problem or the brakes are severly locked up, don't know much about transmission though.

Did you check the front or just rear brakes? If neither are locked up either your tranny is toast or as mentioned torque converter is bad.1 question you said you checked the fluid and its fine does this mean you went according to the level on the dipstick?I would be dropping the pan and see if you have fragments of burnt cluthes or disks.Your fluid could also be burnt and your vehicle will be dead in the water sorta speak

I checked the fluid according to the dipstick...I also just checked the back brakes and the seemed fine, didn't mess with the front brakes at all!

So had a friend of mine take a look at my Blazer yesterday...Haven't got to talk to him since, but he did something underneath the Blazer on the driver's side, and now it seems to be working ok...From what I was told by someone that was with him during the time, he twisted something underneath, and even drove it with no trouble. Any Ideas as to what could have been done or what could cause this???

Have you spoken with your friend to find out what he did? I'm having basically the same issue and I'm interested in what the fix was.

Thanks,
RR

He moved the manual lever on the tranny, also you could have a bad neutral safety switch. Cheap easy fix

I finally got my Blazer back today...Supposedly there saying I have bad Transmission Solenoid Switches...I was able to drive it good for about 20 Miles or so....and the only thing I had to do was once it got to 25 MPH, let off the gas it shifted fine, then drove fine for those 20 miles...Then started doing the same thing all over again...Doesn't go any faster than 20 MPH now, and doesn't seem to switch gears at all again...Not sure yet, if the Solenoid Switches were actually changed out or not yet...I don't think they were...But anyone that has any suggestions at all on this, would be greatly appreciated!

Does anyone know how many Solenoid Switches there are in a blazer's transmission??? Maybe a stupid question, but I don't know anything about cars....
