to the OP. This is the second procedure I was speaking about, but with nice illustrations for putting balancer on tdc #1.

Thank you both. I've been using this video as a guide for changing the distributor. It goes into everything in the post from swartlkk, except #3, the alignment of the distributor post.

As things stand, obd2 and parts arrive Monday. Montana weather and work permitting, I hope to have an update for you near then.

If you need to rotate the oil pump shaft so it aligns with the distributor, a really big and long flatblade screwdriver helps.

I can see there's someone in the audience who doesn't believe you can affect the ignition timing by moving the distributor --- now I gotta find out where he lives so we can pick a convenient parking lot to discuss this ..... <ahem!>”

Dude, this ain’t fight club, it’s a forum of experienced mentors helping a community of diy’ers to fix their trucks and become better mechanics. I can assure you that threatening violence will not improve on your ignorance about Blazers and as Swartlkk said, it’s against the forum rules. Some of the best Blazers technicians on the planet hang out here. Stop threatening people, listen and learn.

Small update, the obd2 sensor I picked up won't connect through bluetooth as a regular device would. Its locked to its own software and that doesn't include any cam sensor readings.

I hope it wasn't the device on Amazon that I suggested in post #9. Please let me know if it was.

Here is another that is cheaper and actually says it need a third party app. Wish I had seen it before.

APP COMPATIBILITY – Compatible with popular Android apps like Car Scanner ELM OBD2, Torque, OBD Fusion, Dr. Prius, CVTz50; NOT compatible with BimmerCode, BimmerLink, ABRP, and other Apps that require specialized hardware. Note they even say compatible with Torque. If compatible with Torque, it is compatible with Car Gauge Pro.

I ordered one of the OBD2 bluetooth devices I recommemded in last post so I can evaluate it and compare to.my original one. I figure I should do this before making further recommendations.
