'98 Jimmy loosing rpms and sputtering
Another small update as well, the car is barely able to make it to 30 seconds idling before cutting out now, its been getting progressively worse. Not sure if that's a usable data point or not. Increasing the rpms for a couple minutes just after startup to let it warm up "kinda" stabilizes it for a few minutes, then it returns to 500 to do its sputtering behavior.
It may just be something simple. Want to use scanner to check cam sensor retard, maf sensor values under various conditions, o2 sensor and fuel trim values under various conditions, IAC valve counts at idle. It will be easy once you have a capable scanner working. Let me know when you have it set up and I will give further instructions. Start with cam sensor retard and report. Use Car Diagnostic Pro and the regular cam sensor retard PID (not alternate). Don't forget to enable GM enhanced PIDs in the app setup. Edit...
Oops - that is just for Torque.

I just came inside from using my newly aquired $14 Veepak OBD2 device I recommended to you. Got it working fine in both Torque and Car Gauge Pro, but had to change some settings in apps before it would read data for me. If you have any problems with the apps communicating after pairing, let me know and we will figure it out. I am running Android 16 on a Samsung A17 5G.
ps you don't have to enable enhanced GM pids in Car Gauge Pro as I incorrectly said above (its only in Torque).
