Unhappy 99 Blazer Heater Core Issues

My heater core could possibly be going out on me. I have a minor leak right under the front right wheel well and the interior smells of antifreeze. No leakage on the interior yet but from what I hear that situation is in my near future. Im interested in bypassing the core all together. Will this in fact stop my minor leak from graduating into a lake in my floorboard? When the truck is idling it doesnt leak but soon after you drive it, it starts a drippin. Obviously w/o taking it apart its hard to tell where its coming from but i feel sure the heater core is the issue here. Any help or confirmation of my findings would be much obliged. Thank You Kindly

if you bypass it,it wont leak. then replace it when you want too. But il warn you now it sucks. Especially in the rain etc. windows get all foggy etc. Mine is bypassed.
