Default Automatic transmission gear D, 2, 1 not engaging

Hi, everyone, I´m Pablo From Argentina, got a 93´S10 Lt Tahoe Blazer: 4wd Automatic 4.3L Vortec V6. Got it for Free from a very good friend first hand owner. Need lot of work to make it running as it used to be. So I´m very glad to found this comunity cause I got without any information ( owners manual, etc). One of the main problems that I found on the truck is that the transmission is not working as is supoused to. I live in a mountain area and need to use gear 2 or 1 whun your moving in a road downhill to prevent acelleration, so I shifth to those gear and nothing happens with the engine, and keeps acellerating the truck, that make me use lot of breake to slow down. I dont feel that the engine is helping to slow down the truck as it supoused. Checked oil and its ok, but still not working well there is any way to repair this? My town is very small and we have lack of shops can try to fix Automatic Transmissions.Winter time is here and Ici roads scare me due the 4wd also is not working.
Thanks you all, enjoy your day.
Pablo

INPUT CLUTCH ASSEMBLY

overrun piston seals cut or damaged
overrun piston check-ball not sealing
I would start by checking the adjustment of the shift cable. CLICK HERE for a fairly good tutorial on adjusting the cable.
