Default Bad solenoid??

So I’m driving today and my Blazer started bucking almost like it was out of gas. I had plenty of gas so I knew that wasn’t the issue. I was able to make it home (I was only 2 miles from my house) but it was a rough ride. I thought I had a bad fuel pump. When I got home I thought I would try to put it in 1st gear manually just to see if that made a difference. It did. I was able to shift through the gears with no issues. Very strange. Anyone have any ideas? Shift solenoid? I had a sift solenoid replaced a couple months ago when it was stuck in 3rd gear. Any help is appericated.

What are you driving?

Are there any codes present?

So it shifts up through all of the gears when you manually pull the shifter back to '1'?

97 Blazer

No codes

When I put it in drive is when I seem to have the issue (feels like I'm running out of gas). When I put it to 1 and then manually shift up through the gears I don't have any issues.

Please be patient. It is the holiday season and not everyone has the free time to dig into your problem for you. Besides, the rules of the forum state to wait at least 24 hours before bumping your post. If you need resolution and the time frame that the forum delivers is insufficient, you can gladly pay someone to diagnose it for you.

If your problem is actually in the transmission, the condition could be caused by a physical problem inside the transmission or possibly a solenoid. Typically, the solenoids just stop working, they don't sporadically work then not work.

If the forward sprag were going out, the overrun clutches would allow the transmission to function in D3, D2, and D1 (3, 2, & 1 shifter positions), but since the overrun clutch does not engage in D4 (over drive), the problem would only be evident in D4.

That's cool. Did not know you had to wait 24 hours before a bump.

Appreciate the feedback. Looks like I will have to take it in to get looked out.
