blazer 96 No Power, abslt TPS 0%
Hello, I have a strange problem. After changing the thermo a few days ago, I have an horrible gas mileage ( 200%!!!). The engine has only little power. I feel, like Im driving a 50 PS car. The trans shifts quiet normal, just at higher RPMs (1000 rpm higher like 3000). If I do a kickdown, it speeds up to 5000, befor the OD gets in. The scanner does not find any errorcode or freezeframes. When I watched the so called livedata, it shows someting strange:
Abslt TPS 0%. No matter if idle or driving. I don't know, what it means. Tranny oil was just checked and good. Motoroil was changed 2 days ago. RPMs in warmup are ok, ( 1000, later 800 and the 500). Only when at working temperature uts a little sluggish. Like its getting to low, then it wakes up an goes a little over 500 and agin the same game. Any suggestions?
Something tells me its an electric problem but I never repaired a car yet.
I forgot something: I found a loose wire under the hood when I changed the Thermo. It was No3 at the junctionbox I thought, because that was the only screw not occupied. I screw it there, and since then my 4wd was working well. I removed it now for analysis, but it did not change anything. Only 4wd could not be engaged anymore. So I fixes it there again.

Does the engine warm up properly?

The TPS is ok now. I followed the instructions on the forum here but I just looked at it. I did nothing else. By doing so izt turned out, that the airsystem was not closed properly. I mounted everything the way it has to be, et voila: No more sluggish idle. Power is back!.
yes, it warms up smooth. I think I have an idea. I had to remove something, that holds the wires for throttle, when I changed the thermo. It holds the 2 wires for engine speed up. Just above the thermo. I was not very carefully. As I found out in this forums, it the wires, that tells the engine to speed up. Maybe I should check there. TPS means Throttle position, right?
By the way, when I use cruise control, everything is absolutly normal. Even the RPMS do net get high to much uphill to keep the speed. Tranny shifts also at around 2000 RPMs. I used that wires to speed up the engine, when under the hood, to have a nice sound ;-). Maybe I dispositioned them. Cause when I use the throttle, it takeds quiet a way, before the engine recognizes it, and speeds up the rpms. (which still does not explain that loss of power)
