Default Blazer goes forward in reverse

Hey guys! First time poster in need of some help. I just put a junkyard transmission in a 96 blazer 4x4 and when i put it in reverse it goes forward. Reverse lights come on. Fluid is good and i manualy ran it thru the gears at the tranny so I know its not linkage. I had a hard time disconnecting and reconnecting one of the electrical plugs by the linkage. Is there anything that I could have done to make it not go in reverse or did i get a bad tranny?

Are you sure it isn't a linkage adjustment issue? Can you get to park & neutral?

Yup, im sure its not the linkage. I disconnected the linkage and shifted it by hand at the transmission and it still goes into reverse but drives the wheels forward.

I lowered the blazer today and when its on the ground i have nothing in reverse. Its only when the wheels are off the ground that they turn forward.. So i have just installed a transmission that doesnt have reverse, is it the tranny?

most likely a transmission issue. its probably more so a problem in one of the electronic components or in the valve body, i.e. a stuck open valve.
