Oh my gosh... I must be going down in the history book for the worst luck ever. I installed the new spider then hooked up the fuel lines to check for leaks. Right away I saw my fuel pressure was dropping very fast, not good. One look to find the number three injector leaking where the tube connects to the injector!!! Guys, I'm so done with changing out the spider's on this thing I think most likely it will be getting towed to my shop next Tuesday unfortunately and they will take it from here. This is just insane.

George, they are BWD injectors, the exact same as the SMP ones. It's so weird because everywhere I see people praising these things. I've now had three in a row leaking straight out the box!!!!! I just want my truck back already!! This is craziness I'm having a hard time believing it even with the video of it leaking lol. But there are no two ways around it the gas is leaking straight out of the #3 injector. Ahh, I feel at such a loss right now especially because I'm pretty much done messing with it and ready to hand it over to my shop. At least I've done everything I possibly can but I just can't keep going on changing out spiders forever like this.

Dang man. I wish I could give you a hug for all the headaches you've had with this.

I’m not saying to turn down the hug from Christine but damn man I wish I could give you a spider that works.

i’m not saying that in this case you did anything wrong, if you needed a new spider then you needed a new spider. That said, this is a cautionary tale and illustrates why I’m always saying to identify your problem with proper testing and only replace or repair targeted parts or wiring because otherwise you may wind up replacing a perfectly good OEM AC Delco part with an inferior aftermarket part, not fix your problem and maybe make your situation even worse in the long run.

Haha thanks Christine... This is so beyond brutal. Three brand new spiders leaking out of the box?!?! I just can't believe it. I wouldn't believe it as I said if I didn't have the video showing it leaking. Yeah, George I really do wish I had replaced the spider with a Delco one when I needed to replace it, I pretty much got the truck with the bad spider, or shortly after it went bad, the one it came with was causing flashing cel once I got on the highway and started trying to give it the beans, and the usual hard starts, but I never confirmed what was actually wrong with it I just brought it into my shop and they just told me I need to replace the spider to fix the problem lol, I also didn't have a lot of the tools and knowledge I have now though. If I had have known better and got a Delco one at that time I have a funny feeling I wouldn't be here right now, I know they were not discontinued then and you could still get them on Amazon for a reasonable price. That being said I still have the spider I pulled out originally over a year ago now and since I know where this one is leaking from I had a thought to try and do some frankensteining and maybe swap the number three injector over from the original, but then I remembered that that would probably void getting another replacement so I ended up pouring myself a drink and writing this post LOL.

I have an AC Delco replacement spider that was briefly used before diagnosing a melted wiring harness on mine. You're welcome to try it for shipping both ways, or if you want to keep it we can probably work something out on a price. There is no mounting bracket or o-rings - just the bare spider assembly.

Thanks, Les, this gave me an idea to maybe try and build one with yours down the line to have a more reliable spider. However looking for even the genuine single injectors, those are discontinued too!! I've been thinking about this for a few weeks now, but let's say the shop gets it running well again. How can I even trust that while I'm out especially on the trails where it would be hard or maybe not possible for a tow truck to come, that my spider won't just blow up again and start leaking everywhere? I can't really anymore. However, I have found something today that might just solve that exact problem. I don't know how I didn't stumble on this sooner. You could say I've been pulled into a world I didn't even know existed. Let me explain, it all started with me seeing the Edelbrock 2114. Seeing that piece of art, carburated?!?! I was about to hit 'buy now' then go pair up a carb to go with it lol I didn't even have to think twice...Then I found the marine intake... wow, I have been missing out on so much. I now know what my next project on this thing will be once it starts to warm up!!! The day I take the spider out and smash it on the ground will be the best day ever. I expect my reliability to go through the roof and I'll never have to worry when I'm out on the trails or anywhere about the spider. I've been having nightmares about spiders lately, I can honestly say I never want to see one or touch one again. Finding out I can get rid of my spider is like a dream come true for me LOL I'm never gonna look back.

There have been a few posts about adding a marine intake and I started searching out of curiosity for one in particular. I was able to track it down. https://blazerforum.com/forum/new-me...i-could-96068/

Yeah, the one on that thread looks really nice thanks Christine. I found a brand new one with the fuel rails and injectors for a grand... here. Only thing is that it comes with the throttle body too which would be pretty much useless to me. Doesn't seem too bad though, especially since lordco is selling those spiders for a grand each. With this, I could have a completely different and more reliable fuel delivery system for about the same. I'm also seeing adapters readily available online that switch the 4 bolt throttle body back to the 3 bolt so I can keep the stock throttle body. Then run an fuel lines and just be worrying about where to put all the vacuum connections.
