blazer woes...
 

So my 96 blazer blew an intake gasket and water filled the engine. It sat for quite sometime before I got around to cleaning it up. long story short, it wont start. Here are some of what I did after cleaning the crap out of the engine

1)Checked spark at the #1 plug

2)installed the distributer pointing to the little notch with the 6 on it while engine was TDC #1 cylinder ( that is with the second timing mark on the balanced at the upper mark on the engine )

3)Manually applied 12v to each fuel injector (I upgraded the spider injection to the newer individually activated injectors) to confirm the solenoid works

4)The fuel pump is running and getting pressure (I can press the fuel pressure point and fuel comes out

5)New plugs

6)New cap & rotor


now I know Fuel+timing+spark=start but all it will do is act like its out of time and pop through the throttle body once in a while while cranking

Can anyone give me a push in the right direction? I know I am missing something

Is it possible that you were at tdc on exhaust stroke and not compression stroke? The crank rotates 2x the camshaft, so the timing marks will line up at tdc on both compression and exhaust strokes.
You must be on compression stroke or your timing is 180 degrees off.

I dont believe so, I had a compression gauge in number1 and saw the pressure build up
