Default Bolt from Thermostat housing snapped off.

I was swapping out Thermostats which i've done before since my 03 Blazer was running hot (even with full coolant/water mixture). Our guess was the Thermostat was stuck closed which happened before. I think it got too hot and maybe melted one of the two bolts to the bottom half of the housing. My question is, Am I screwed? I have no idea how to get it out.

For clarification it is what the thermostat rests in.

You may be able to use a bolt extractor to back it out. If that doesn't work you may have to drill it out and re-tap the hole. If you don't feel comfortable doing it get an estimate from a shop or it may be easier and cheaper to just swap the entire intake manifold from one you find at a pick n pull.

Im with rex, you should be able to use a bolt extractor, and sometimes heat can go a long way towards helping it come out. Heat up the area "around" the bolt and try not to heat the bolt to much than use the extractor.

Default Got a question

Replaced the thermostat and everything was good no leaks. Drove it that night still nothing wrong the check engine light went out. Drove it the next day about 60 miles and went to mcdonalds sit in drive threw it started over heating and the was spying antifreeze . Took it to the shop and they said the bolt was broken on the thermostat. What could have caused this.? I know the bolt was not broken and was tighted down.
