Bypassed Rubber Hose

Bypassed Rubber Hose
I have recently purchased a 1994 Chevy Blazer Tahoe LT trim package. I noticed a rubber hose that comes up from behind the engine block and has it stuck into an old Gatorade bottle. I have the 4.3 Vortec engine. The previous owner cut out all the AC components and bypassed the power steering pump because the pump went bad. I've fixed the steering but can not find where this hose goes. It's a small rubber hose like a vacuum hose but it's been stuck in a Gatorade bottle. Any suggestions on what this hose is and where it connects. The little hose does have a black plastic nipple in the end of it.

If the hose is for the transmission or transfer case in case of overheating, what is the hose suppose to dump into and if this is bypassed could it mean that I may have issues with the tranny or transfer case. I've driven it and it seems to shift fine.

Dextron fluid. And be sure you have a large enough catch pan. Pull the top plug first to verify that it is over full. BE CAREFUL things will get messy in a hurry if it is over full. You will need to change the input seal in transfer case.
