camshaft position sensor help

Question camshaft position sensor help

ok so new motor (93 vortec 4.3) i got does not have a crank sensor on it old one does (96 vortec 4.3) is there a way to bypass or do i have to have that sensor or what do i need to do???????

You cannot bypass the CKP sensor. Your only hope is that you can swap the timing cover and reluctor ring (on the crankshaft) from the old motor onto the '93...

You really should have found another '96+ engine to use. That would have been a pain free swap and included the better heads/cam of the SCFI engine...

got brand new heads for a 96 with compcams roller rockers and lifters also have a high dollar comp cam that came with the engine block is 93 ish but has all the 96 and up heads and stuff just not the ckp
