Exclamation Car tremble when gearing reverse

Hi experts ,
i have a 87 Chevy K5 with 5.7 on a 400 Tr (and a transfer case) which i just installed.
Whenever i gear to reverse i hear a sound (metal klank) and the car trembles for a second. The same happened even before i install the new transfer case
any ideas? is the motor too powerfull? or the 400 needs any kind of adjusment?

Regards,
K5 Lover

Default

The TH400 is more than strong enough to handle the 5.7L engine. The clank is likely drivetrain slop being taken up. The shudder... What transfer case does it have?
