I have a 94 full size blazer. TRANNY is out. Have a 2 wheel drive 700r4. BLAZER is a 4x4. HOW hard is it to change 700r4 from 2 to 4wheeldrive? Should I even try doing it?

 

The tailshaft is most likely different. I seem to recall a short output 2wd 700R4 that might match up to a 4wd trans output shaft length so you might be able to measure and see if you got lucky. Otherwise you're looking at swapping tailshafts which requires gutting the transmission. The tailshaft comes out the front of the transmission case.

 

Ya not going to gut transmission. Way above my pay grade for this. I guess I'll have to find one out of another four wheel drive vehicle. Thanks. THAT'S pretty much what I thought. WAS hoping someone that new would tell me I was wrong n that I could do it

 

you can check with your local transmission shop. i had them change a tailshaft for me on a th350 like 7 years ago and only charged me $100 in labor, must have been really easy.

but you will have to deal with "while we are in your trans we see you need this this and this".
