Default Coil Wire Boots??

Hey guys, first timer here. I've got a 2000 Blazer 4.3ltr Auto Trans 175,000 miles. I gave it a tune up 6 months ago...plugs, cap, rotor, wires. And now I notice my coil wire boots are turning white, both ends, not the wire it self. It smells like sulfur and feels like powder. it wipes right off. could the boots be leaking or the wire defective? They are good wires, or I should say they cost me about $70.00 Could someone give me an idea on what should be done?? Thanks in Advance.

I'm just a bit curious as to what you think might be leaking?

Sounds like you've got some corrosion going on. Pull the plug ends off and see what is going on if you haven't already done so. Clean up any corrosion and apply some dielectric grease and reinstall.

I've been using it for years every time I change plugs/wires. Just ensures better contact and resists corrosion better.

Hey thanks for the reply... As far as what is leaking......I don't have a clue. I did pull the wires off, no kind of burn marks, no white powder on the inside, nothing out of the ordinary. I had used the dielectric grease when I did the original tune up. So I cleaned the boots, the wire and the coil. Reapplied the grease and repositioned the wire. Thinking maybe it was grounding on something nearby. I guess if it is not a common problem. I will continue to check to see if it returns. Thanks for all your help. If it returns, I will contact you again.
