Default Coolant shinanigans

So I have a 1999 Isuzu Hombre XS(4.3l v-6, 4x4), close your eyes until the hood gets opened and you will see it is the same as a 1999 s-10(4.3l v-6 4x4).

For awhile I have noticed the smell of boiling coolant after turning the engine off, me being a mechanic and seeing a little drop in coolant a small inconvenience did not take it seriously. This leads to the other day where after driving a short distance the engine bay was steaming...a lot....by leaking coolant. There was coolant covering the whole driver side of the engine. I checked all hoses (soft and hard) and found none to be leaking. The leak appears to be located behind the AC compressor mount somewhere. I noticed there is a section of the water pump that runs over and under that mount but looks like it is merely a mounting bracket and doesn't channel coolant. I also found a small tab of silicon that looks like it was pushed out from between the heads and the block. Yes, I have tried to look to see if I can see the leak when the truck is running, but the fan tends to be a problem when I'm trying to stick my head in the right area to see the chunk of silicon (can't even get a clear view of where the water pump section goes even with engine off)

So does the water pump have a journal that runs underneath the AC compressor mount or did I just blow the silicon gasket?
