Talking Cost of new transmission for 2001 4x4 2 door.

2001 2 dr. 4x4 Blazer 111K needs transmission replaced or rebuilt. Located Bay Area, CA.
I would appreciate information from the group on this forum regarding the ACCEPTABLE cost (parts/labor) for either a rebuilt transmission or to have my transmission rebuilt. I have gathered ranges from 2K to 4K. Although my brother paid $1700 to have his 1998 4 door 4x4 rebuilt including a catalytic converter. (Location Chico, CA). I would just like information on price variances expected in California.

I paid $2400 for transmission to be rebuilt in my 2001 4x4 a few years ago. 3-year warranty and I used the warranty during a subsequent breakdown. Major Tranmission Franchise. No arguments and they towed it 60 miles. Location, South Bend, IN.

I have a good used one I'll sell you cheap. It came out of my own Blazer when I put a manual transmission in it, so I know it works well.
