Default Cost to replace a transmission

2000 Blazer LT 4x4

Has anyone had their transmission completely replaced? Was wondering how much it cost (ballpark parts + labor) for a shop to do it for you.

depends what youre doing. you could buy a used tranny and get it put in, or get your current one rebuilt.

You would be better off if to buya new jasper tranny bc you get 3year 100,000 warranty. and most shops only warranty up to 6months parts and labor.

I had got a Replacement 4L60E For my 97 S10, But my truck is RWD only so its alot cheaper. I payed 1400 for a New Tranny including Labor. But I got my labor extrmely cheap because im really close friends with the shop. I know that my cousin had a new tranny put in there 98 Jimmy that it was almost 4 grand to replace everything.

The key here is to "know what your paying for", Ive been quoted 1650-2600$ for the same job! wich was only a rebuild. If you get your tranny repaired just try your best to know what theye are claiming to repair. Tranny work is the easyest to scam you on, theye may charge you for parts not even replaced. so best bet go to a reputable shop, that has a good warranty that they will uphold.
