Default damaged harmonic balancer

I was wondering what kind of problems can occur from the rubber ring on the harmonic balancer being damaged causing the outside of the balancer to turn around the inside. I noticed this problem so i put the balancer back together with the timing mark lined up with the key hole drove fine for 3 days then started lacking power sputtering and dieing again expecially going uphill or fast accelerating. took it back off and the line was was on the opposite side of the key hole again.Im wondering if this is my problem with the lack of power or if the pick up coil in the distributer is going bad. No one that i know seems to have ever heard about this balancer shifting problem its impossible to time when the timing mark moves. If anyones had this problem before please let me know the problems that you had.

Take it off and go down to your local auto parts and get a new one. You will need a harmonic balancer puller and don't hammer the new one on. You don't want to run the engine for a prolonged period of time with it like that.

If the knock sensor is picking up the vibration from the out of balance bottom end, it could cause the lack of power.

Yeah that makes perfect sense with the vibration and the knock sensor. I got a used balancer from pick and pull i finally found a blazer with a new one. I took off probably 8 balancers and just about all of them except 2 were bad. Still lacking power just put in a new distributer its about the last thing to replace ill see how it runs now
