Distributor?

1st off, take it by advance auto etc and have them scan the codes to see whats causing the light to come on. then come back to us with the code and we can start from there.

I'm still confused by your "disterputer". Does this have something to do with your ECM having disteria?

And for the record, I've never heard a distributor "buzz".

There are a few things that can cause the distributor to 'buzz'. A bad bearing either at the top or bottom of the distributor can cause excessive shaft clearance & a vibration associated. This type of failure wouldn't prohibit the truck from running, but typically does have some misfire symptoms. Another problem that can cause a buzzing noise is an improperly installed distributor cap which is allowing the rotor to hit the cap inside. Typically, the vehicle will not run at all if this is the case.
