distributer hold down bolt

distributer hold down bolt
i have a question i removed the coil and the deal next to it that i have no idea what it is to get access to loosen nut on distributer hold down clamp . i would like to be able to adjust distributer with out taking these parts off.
i know i can get the homemade tool down to the bolt but have no way of seeing if its on the bolt head or not. any tips
