Default Distributor Reinstall

Hi all,

I have 96 blazer and I removed the distributor to check the drive gear but did not mark when removing. So I followed Kyle's "edi engine timing" guide to reinstall the distributor. All went well until I started the truck. I have a really bad misfire. Just wondering what I may have done wrong.

Double checked wires none appear to be crossed. I have had a p0300 code for some time that is why I pulled the distributor to check the drive gear.Don't Have a scan tool and have not been able to drive it to have cel check to see if it throwing a new code. This misfire is worst than before I pulled the distributor. I had a very slight misfire at idle only. Truck ran great other than that. No misfires at higher rpm's

When you started it did it start easy,or did it take longer that normal, and was difficult to start?

Check all electrical connections(at distributor),I'd also suggest making sure all plug wires are seated on distributor cap and plugs. Cap on straight(screwed down snug)

(Kiss) keep it simple stupid. That's my philosophy.

it might be unrelated. ive installed distributors wrong before on these trucks and the truck will throw a code almost instantly. also the last time i did it the truck actually ran and idled fine but when you gave it gas it had like zero power

try moving it a tooth at a time till its right. clearly it isnt on there right. You have to align the oil pump drive each time

Checked all electrical connections at distributor. Checked all plug wires. Cap on tight. Andrew do I need to align timing marks each time I pull the distributor to move it a tooth at a time?
