Default Doing some engine work.

Hello everyone
Im new to this site and bought my first Jimmy yesterday its a 98 SLE 4WD, and well its in OK condition I guess lol.
Ill start by listing some after market parts put on the truck and some things Ive done in the past 2 weeks.
So I bought this truck for 800$ It came with
- Bilstein shocks front and back -2 years old
- Steel skid plates front to back/Carbon fiber gas tank skid plate
- Discovery R/T tires with 70% tread (800$ tires new appareantly)
- Magnaflow Cat back exhaust (Gutted out cat, exhaust is getting rusty 3yr old)
I know theres other parts that have been put on it obviously the trucks frame has 275000km and im told the engine only has around 120k.
Parts ive put on so far is
- New aluminum ac delco distributor
- Rear driveside brakehose (was collapsed)
- Rear caliper(damn bleeder screw stripped)
- Brakes/rotors on rear
Ok so problems Im having and question im wondering is the Jimmy is leaking oil, very very slow leak, but I dont like any leaks so Im figuring to do every gasket around the engine, I havent exactly pinpointed the leak but I know its above the oil cooler lines coming down to the filter from the engine. Im not a master mechanic or anything, I do have a shop I can work on my vehicle for a weekend or whenever during evenings.
Is it hard to replace all the gaskets on the engine such as Plenum, head gasket, Front crank.
Aswell Ive seen videos how you reset your timing to top dead center and you line up the two marks, when you line those up where do you line up the distributor? Any input is welcome so far Ive got some really good info from this forum site and plan to use it as frequently as possible.
