Default Down shifts aren't right

I have a 95 blazer, every time I slow down, like a rolling stop, depending on my speed, when i go to speed back up again,I have to push the accelertor pedal further down to get a 2nd to 1st or 3rd to 2nd down shift ,but mostly the later. Anybody have an idea on might be going on ?

Governor in a 95??? I'm pretty sure the 95 I worked on in the shop today was a 4L60E.... meaning no governor.

Full sized trucks became electronic in 93 I think? Are S10's and Blazers the same? (I got CRS.... cant remember stuff).

It always confuses me because the cars changed one year, trucks a different year and blazers and S10's a different year.

Ok.. but with regards to your question... You could put a scan tool on it and see if the trans behaves as the computer commands. Check for codes while your there.

Tps failing, loose or out of adjustment comes to mind, which you could easily verify with data on a scan tool.

Engine lack of power also comes to mind.

You are correct, Rich. It is a 4L60E so there would be no governor.

There really is no adjusting the TPS sensor with out enlarging the mounting holes, but I would agree that it sounds like may be a failing TPS. This would cause other symptoms though...

Another thought would be the MAP sensor as it is used for engine load calculations. If it was not correctly reporting on manifold pressure (vacuum) levels, it may cause erratic shifting of the transmission with other much more subtle symptoms (as compared with a TPS sensor failing).
