Default Electrical problem causing loss of power.

I have a 1992 s10 4 door 4x4 blazer with a 1993 vortec motor in it. I wired into it a 12v to 110 volt adapter that has a usb hook up and 12v cigar lighter plug in on it. I put in an inline fuse and then plugged my hot lead in to the accessory "ign" hook up that is located on my fuse box. I was driving the car when I had lifted my foot off the pedal and pushed the wire leading to the adapter up against something and I think that it shorted due to a little bit of exposed copper wire. The car dinger came on and my fuel gauge and my aftermarket tach. and every other gauge except for the temp. gauge stopped working. I also lost all engine power. The dash lights and all my blinkers and brake lights work. It still starts. If I push down on the pedal the motor doesn't speed up unless I feather it a little and it has a hard time doing that while climbing any kind of hill. The fuses that indicated things other than blinker and horn and stuff like that all were fine and my inline fuse that I installed on my adapter was fine. Maybe a bad ground?? I am lost and am wondering if anybody has any clue whatsoever could be the problem. The fuel pump runs when I turn the key...brand new.
Thanks.
