i have a 2000 4x4 blazer that runs very well but my reverse is not working anymore...it started to work less and less until it finally quit completely....do i need a new transmission or could it be anything else? any info or advice would be great! thanks a lot!

 

It's probably time to let the transmission shop look at it. Since it went out over time, you've probably lost the engagement clutches.

Have you checked the fluid (warm, idling in park or neutral)? Is it full? Is it a nice pink/red color, or is it brown/burnt? That would tell us a lot right there.

Just out of curiosity, how many miles are on it?
