Wow! Glad you got it all figured out. The '98 Astro upper plenum should be the ticket!

Sounds like someone over torqued or otherwise tried to force the upper plenum into place. Just remember when you put everything all back together, the torque on the bolt is a very light 44inlb 1st pass, 80inlb 2nd (final) pass.
