engine stutters

engine stutters
Hi All,
95 blazer 4,3w with automatic, when I am driving at a constant speed of 40mph about 1400rpm the truck stutters like it is a bad fuel pump it only happens at 1400 or so rpm, also when cold and taking off sometimes it will go up to 3k rpm before moving it does not do this all the time though, fluid levels are good, and no check engine light appears.
Any ideas?
