Hey guys, a couple things. About a month ago my 00 Jimmy would not start. She would turn over and over and over and over for as long as i asked her to, but she would not start. Mind you that this was durring the whole polar votex thing where it was litteraly warmer on the surface of mars than in was here in michigan. After a while you could smell gas. Now, I dont know if that was because of the small crack i have at the top of my tank or if it was flooding, I'm not sure, I'm getting mixed answers from friends. About a week after it wouldnt start, I went out and just tried to start it for gits and shiggles and she started right up like nothing happened. Any ideas as to what that could have been and maybe how to prevent that in the future?

Secondly, I've been entertaining the idea of swapping out the stock 4.3 (which a good friend of mine who as owned 3 blazers himself, tells me is garbage and to change that motor as soon as possible) for either a cummins or a duramax diesel motor. I'm in no rush because obviously this would be a major investment, so i'm just looking for comments or suggestions here. Thanks everybody!
