heyya need some advice, please. these problems started with a short in the drivers door n killed the battery and with a weak battery fried the starter windings and flooded the engine (gasoline smell after cranking). the spark plug were clean and slighty wet but still suspect flooding. got good cranking power and no starting up yet. tried removing the fuel pump relays and cranking and thenwaiting then crank somemore but nothing yet. 96 blazer 4 wheel drive auto 48k

Basic questions, but have you tried cranking the engine while holding the pedal all the way to the floor andare you getting spark to the plugs?

ok then now i need spark. tried the full throttle crank, and looked around for loose, crack or coroded wires. looked at roter and points (clean). the spark plugs are light brown and fairly clean of deposits. tried pulling one of the spark plugs and grounding them on the block to see visible spark on left and right side caps and nothing happening (good cranking power and drives door wiring repaired). man got no book, just got this ride in march, 70 miles above the arctic circle, looked with the search engineand blogs back to 02/07 and cannot find any similar problems or answers.any advice is greatly appreciated thank you. also check what fuses i could find by drivers door

I noticed you started another thread on this same issue. That's actually a no-no on the forum, it gets things all confused for people trying to answer questions. Back to the problem - have you checked all of your fuses to make sure they are good, both the ones under the dash and the ones inside the engine compartment? If they are, then the problem may lie with either the coil not generating fire, the PCM not processing the information correctly, the distributor not transferrring the electricity to the plugs, or even a short in the ignition switch.. You really need to have a manual for the truck to see the ways of testing the components. Electrical gremlins can be a pain to track down, especially via long distance. Sorry I don't have a direct answer to solve the problem at this point. If you can narrow down the variables maybe we can help more.

err kay then looking for underhood fuses n fusible link. found a security system (your valet) with one set of wires disconnected. could the 100 plus cranks from trying to unflood the engine create other problems ??? no spark yet. all fuses in drivers door good . and yea man got a manual flying in

ok now with a chilton chevy (not quite a blazer manual but still practicial) and an ohm meter tested ignitin coil with a screw driver to bracket (ground) nothing happening during cranking. got 11.87v on red wire to coil. ohms test 12.7ohms on first pin to coil output??? does this mean i need a new coil?
