Found spring after draining tranny and t-case

Default Found spring after draining tranny and t-case

I am not 100% sure this came from either, but i was putting my old atf into a bucket and found this in the drain pan. Does this look like it is part of the tranny?

spring that goes in boost valve maybe?

It definitely came from somewhere. I doubt it came from the boost valve because there would be parts of the boost valve down in there was well if the snap ring came loose...

Here is a shot of the boost valve I installed in the 4L60E in my Tahoe:

I'd have to look back at the old parts I took out to see if the spring looked as long as the one you showed above...

From the other parts I put in, it looks like it may go to the pressure control solenoid, but the wire size doesn't look the same as the one from the kit I installed.


It actually looks like the spring in the upper left corner of this picture which is the park pawl return spring:

It is part of ACDelco # 8667517.

The park pawl return spring is still in there. Do you think the spring could have came from elsewhere when removing the tranny? is there any springs in the transfer case?
