Default Fuel pressure regulator squirting out the side

1995 Jimmy, 4.3. Replaced the poppet assembly recently and noticed fuel leaking from the lines in the plenum. Replaced those as well. Drove fine for a couple of days, then went to start it and won't start. Smelled fuel and discovered fuel puddling under passenger side behind the front tire. Removed the upper plenum and discovered that when I turn the switch on, fuel is shooting out of the side of the regulator. Because I just replaced the entire poppet assembly, I'm curious if anyone else has had this happen or if there might be an underlying issue before I just swap out the regulator. Not as familiar with these poppet injectors as some of you might be.

So I went out and started tinkering with it, and discovered the pressure regulator is leaking where it attaches to the poppet assembly. It looked like the regulator wasn't tightened all the way down. I grabbed my torx set, and discovered that one of the regulator mounting screws is stripped. I bought this as an assembly online. I am looking now, and so far have onky found one- for over $400. I am thinking of hitting the boneyard and grabbing a full Intake with the newer style injectors, as those seem to be easier to find. The current vehicle is an early production '96, however I have discovered the engine is a '95- so the injector system is different between the years.
Any one have any input on changing the intake? I know the harness isn't the same, but that can be collected from the donor vehicle as well. Is there going to be a need for any other items, such as the ecm, etc.?
