Default Fuel pump

Not sure if this was the right place to post this ,sorry. Anyways i have a 99 blazer LS, the other day ran fine till i turned it off, all i get is a crank.I can hear the fuel pump but after a few seconds i hear like a air leak from inside the fuel tank. Is the pump damaged? And if so what would the best way to go? can i rebuild for cheaper price or spend aver 200.00, how else can i tell, any help would be good. thanks

How many miles? When was the last time you changed the fuel filter? Put a fuel pressure guage on it and turn on the key. If no pressure then you have lost the pump. Don't buy a cheap pump! Go with a Delco or AirTex.

Bought the car with 74000, I have 123000 on it now, but we replaced the pump and filter somewhere around 90000

Airtex pumps are junk...at least for these vehicles. Only Delco unless you want to do it again sooner rather than later.

You def. need a new fuel filter, but im not sure about the pump its sugessted to put a new filter in every 15,000 if i remember correctly, better to replace them often then get something clogged cause they are like 12$
