Default Fuel pump or fuel pump relay on a 2002

Hi all, I have a 2002 LS.Today it would crank but not start. I notice nofuel pump noise when I turn the key and am thinking its either the fuel pump or the relay. The fuse looked OK. Can any one tell me where the relay is located? I read on another postsomeone suggested on an older model swapping the fuel pump relay with the wiper relay to test, is this still a good test for a 2002? Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

Pull the cover off the underhood fuse block. You should be able to find the fuel pump relay by following the diagram on the underside of the cover. Once you find it, select another relay in the fuse block that looks the same and swap them. If that doesn't fix the issue, the next step I would suggest is to pull the electrical connection at the fuel pump and test for 12V and ground there.

Thanks Kyle. Myfuel pump relay is working. To check thevoltage to the fuel pump you have to drop the tank right? Many thanks in advance.

For me and my forearms, yeah, I'd need to drop the tank down a bit. If you have smaller arms, you may be able to get to the electrical connection, but it won't be easy to get off...

Yup and my dad thought the same exact thing in his truck ('94 GMC K2500). Replaced the pump after MUCH aggrevation to find out that it didn't make a difference. Come to find out the next day that the cause was a broken ground wire to the pump. No bad fuse. No bad relay. It always pays off to check for proper power at the pump before just dropping the $$$ on a new one.
