I've got an 87 with a 2.8. Its been in thr family since my grandfather bought it brand new. Its our work truck around the farm(yes its a s10 and yes I know this is the wrong forum). My dad called me last week and said the fuel pump was going bad so I went over Sunday and installed a new one. Well after I got the pump back in the tank and got all the hoses connected we tried it and the fuel pump will not come on. Got a new relay and put it in and no change. Checked every fuse twice and still wont work. Ive heard that the wiring on these are infamous for going bad over the years so im going to rewire it. But before I do I was wondering if there may be something I'm not seeing or thinking of first. I also want to add that the ECM has been replaced very recently.

 

Double check that the ground strap has a good connection from the tank to the frame before rewiring the entire thing.

 

I've tried to ground it in two or three different places,even ran a new ground wire to it.
