gas tank question

is a 97 blazer 4wd 4 door full size gas tank the same as an s-10 4 door gas tank ?

full size?? There was no such thing as a 4door full size Blazer.

But to answer your question, I do not think the gas tanks are the same between the s-series suvs and the s-series pickups.

i just called a place to get a gas tank and they asked me if it is a full size or s-10..i noticed a bunch of auto parts store online ask whether its a full size as well...the place i called said they have one tank for an s-10..would it be safe to get it?

Ah, I see. The place you called has no idea about the application.. LOL.

Your truck is indeed an S-series Blazer although GM dropped the s10 moniker in '95 when the full size Blazer became known as the 2dr Tahoe Sport. Make it clear to them that this is NOT a full size application, nor is it a pickup.

so as long as its from a 97 4dr blazer itll fit a 97 4dr blazer

That is a sure fire way to ensure fitment. You can try sites like car-parts.com to see an interchange list.
