Default head gasket or manifold gasket

My blazer started runnig hot on the way in to work not boiling over just hotter then usual also started running rough. I let it cool added anti freeze and drove it home. I saw no visible signs of a leak anywhere so I checked dip stick found coolant in engine oil. I thought head gasket but after reading posts on the forum realized it could be manifold gasket. My concern is that my oil level on the dip stick was at least 3" above full. 175000 on motor is there hope or should i look to rebuild motor. thanks

Yeah it is defiantly your Lower intake gasket.... is the motor knocking at all? if not it may not have done much damage and you can get by with draining the oil and antifreeze and changing the LIM gasket.. then when you get done with that you can add like 4 quarts of oil and a can of seafoam and let it run up to operating temp and then drain that and replace with 5 quarts of oil

My vote would be LIM as well. And agree that if it isn't making unusual noises *yet*, then it may be ok.

No the motor sounds ok. thanks for the info i've also picked up some real good info from previous threads on the forum including the d-tips step by step manifold removal, and to use the better fel pro gaskets.I'm not really looking forward to doing it but it doesn't look to difficult and it beats spending $550 thanks again
