I have a gmc jimmy 00' 4x4, and the problem is that it won't take the reverse, when I put the gear, it only sounds like a fan, but it won't do anything, the other gears seem fine, my wife is the one that drives the truck, and she said that it was acting funny this morning, then she got off work and came home, but when she was going back out, the truck wouldn't go into reverse, what's going on ???

 

is it a manual or automatic if its an automatic it could be that the valve bodies in the tranni arent opening and there sticking if its a manual then probably the the teeth on the gear are stripped thats my suggestion without hearing it and being there with the vehicle

 

its an automatic, I checked the trans oil and it seems ok, anybody, please ??
