Default Help me! S10 Sport only 2 wd

Hi to everyone. I write from Italy.... and... sorry for my grammatic mistakes. So. I have a 1993 Chevy S10 Sport 4 wd. I have a problem. If I switch to 4 wd following the instruction in manual use , the light indicator is well ( green light) ....but the transmission turns only and always in 2 wd. I tested it in with the car completely relieved to look observe under the car. The shaft that could move also the front gear ...and...turn only rear gears. My mechanist said is damnaged the actuator drive....the electronic part that could give the impulse to turn also tho the front gears. Do you think is possible? What is the correct name of this electronic part.? So . .. anyone could suggest me a web site where I could buy one ? Best regard to you. Thanks a lot. Erik

hard to understand what u mean but sounds like the transfer case actuator switch. its a thread in electric push button switch on the side of the transfer case that tells the front axle to engauge. this could be your issue if the front prop shaft turns but front wheels dont. please try to specify your problem more if u can. u can buy this anywhere here in the states, or any other part of the system. we have rock auto.com napa .com autozone.com etc

you are right Trucktom.... more simply... I switch the botton in 4 wd ( green light is ok) but turns only rear gears. My mechanist says the problem is the "actuator drive" probably out of order....but I dont know if the name of the component is correct because I' d like to buy it there in a web shop USA but I dont know the correct name of the componet taht I must lookin for. Thanks for your patience. Erik
