Default Help on replacing the 4WD Actuator Cable

I need help. I've got a 2000 Blazer that needs the 4WD Actuator Cable replaced.....it was Cut off close to the Transfer Case. I have the cable & know where it goes, but don't know how to get the old one out & new one in. Something seems to be Holding it in there, and I DON'T want to break anything by pulling on it. Does anybody know how??
Thanks, Dave
