Default help with starter

i bought a 1978 chevy k5 blazer 5.7l. i keep charging the battery and i keep getting the dreaded clicking sound. I think my starter is dead. my question is which starter should i get? it has aftermarket headers on it and there isnt much room to begin with down there. are there smaller starters that are just as good if not better than regular?

Relay clicking isn't a sign of a bad starter, i say this knowing there are always exceptions. Relay clicking is usually a bad battery or connection. Make sure terminals on the battery are clean, the battery has no build up on the top of it. All ground straps have good clean connections. The starter is grounded to the block via where it mounts, if connection is bad there it will cause problems too, this doesnt happen often either. My first step is to swap a good battery in there and see if it works, when a battery is too far gone not even jumping it will save it. Changing the starter might fix it because you will be redoing the connections. Also make sure the positive to the starter isnt frayed.
