Ok sorry for the repeated question but I would just like to hear some more answers. I have a '97 Blazer 4x4 with the 4.3L with 241K miles. Ever since I bought it 3 months ago I have had a hesitation problem with it when it shifts from 1st to 2nd at around 2500rpm. It kind of bucks and doesn't want to shift. And sometimes the rpms seem to fluctuate. I changed the plugs, wires, cap and rotor and the problem ceased for about a month and then it just started coming back, at around the same time it started to get cold here (maybe a relation?). I checked the dist and everything checked out fine. And there are no vacuum leaks and everything is hooked up. Just to name the other things I've had changed on it: new battery, air filter, fuel filter, fuel pump, injectors professionally cleaned, new MAF sensor, new trans fluid and filter, and new valve cover and intake gaskets. I'm starting to think the tranny is going bad...any help?

I would start with the trans. Any trans codes detected? With that many miles I'd look into a rebuild otherwise I'd suggested a transgo shift kit.

No trans codes...just had one for random misfires but that was resolved when I did the plugs wires cap and rotor. I was referred to a guy in my area who does rebuilt ones and it's only $1000 for the unit and installation so I figured it's worth a shot.

Start with $50 worth of shift solenoids, trans fluid, and trans filter plus bit of time on your back in your driveway before you drop a grand for some shop to rebuild your entire trans!!!

Have a trans shop put a scanner on it to see if any hidden trans codes. Not all scanners will pull up trans codes.

I had what sounds to be the EXACT same problem, my timing was off, take it to a shop and ask them to check your timing.

Now that I think about it...I would bet it's either the timing or a coil. Like I said the problem went away after I did the plugs wires cap and rotor...will be getting the timing checked tomorrow and I'll post my findings

Timing is dead on. Everything ignition related is good. So now I'm back to thinking it's the tranny
