Hey guys i need some expert help on my truck.
Alright. I have an 86 chevy s-10 blazer with a 2.8 ltr v6 2wd. My motor began leaking water into the crankcase. i redid gaskets instead of getting everything checked out for a ny cracks on the heads or block. I didnt want to cause i dont want to keep this engine in my truck i want the 4.3 ltr. well my question is what all do i need to change to put in the 4.3 ltr. I figured the ECM the tranny and motor of course but was wonder of what else. oh and another question do the 2.8 ltr ecm wiring harness fit the 4.3 ltr? if any one can help me please i would really appreciate it...
You will probably neeed to go with the 3.4L V6 because it and the 2.8L were 60* engines, but the 4.3L is a 90* and would not mate up to the tranny for the 2.8L.
Spend the $20 and buy a book by Jags That Run. The swap you want to do is the same as swapping in a V8. JTR sells a book on how to swap in the V8.
Basically you have to change motor mounts, tranny, driveshafts (unless you get the tranny back in teh same location). Deal with the fuel system (carb or fuel injected). Deal with teh puter will depend on the donor. You may have to deal with the VSS too, depends on the donor.
If you dropped in a V8 you have to do all that plus move the rad forward. GO V8!!!!!
