Default high idle

I have a 94 s10 with a 4.3. Bought it from a freind and he told me that it had and high idle, checked the codes and it was an iac. So i bought a new one, checked the distance of the pintol distance and installed it. Drove at 40 mph for a couple of mins and would not set. Still pops up an iac code. Does any one know what else it is, or something i can try to fix it. Thanks

It is possible that the wiring to/from the IAC valve is damaged somewhere.

What was the specific code? If it is an idle to high code, then it could be caused by a vacuum leak.

Long shot but manual says to disconnect the battery, leave it off when replaceing the IAC, to reset the computer. Also a bad TPS will do the same thing.
