Default How high is high oil pressure

My S10 Blazer had a serious oil leak a while ago and I thought it was a serious issue, but at the shop they found a hole in the oil filter. I'd never heard of that. So they put a new one on and new oil in, but on the way home I saw the gauge reading about 60, whereas it had always been just above 40. I wondered if they'd given me a bum filter or the wrong oil. I replaced that with a new filter and oil, but still showing 58-60. At or near idle with a hot engine it might -- or might not -- drop down to about 44. Some people say leave it, it ain't serious, and others say I'm gonna blow a seal or something. I've never seen this and I'm wondering if it's a clog or a bad pressure relief valve.
