i need help
i have a 1983 chevy blazer 6.2 v8 diesel and i bought it about 2 weeks ago ago and i bought it as a running vehicle but when i got it the bloke said it ran out of diesel and he couldnt get it running again and now we cant get the motor runing it is a major 4x4 and i dont want to get rid of it so i need to find a problem
we tried to get it started for a whole day we have got 2 big battereies for it and we turned it over but it wont start there is fuel getting to the injectors but the engine isnt starting and the fuel line that goes to the tank has wore through so there has been a temperary tank put in under the bonnet
i have been told that the injector pump has a selernoide in it and that might have gone but i dont know
does anyone know any information that would help me
it would be very appreshiated
thanks

You try spraying ether in the intake yet to see if it'll fire to make sure its a fuel delivery issue?
One thing you can try is lossen all the lines going to the cylinders. Don't take them off just a couple cranks. Then crank the engine till diesel starts seeping out kinda like bleeding the brakes. Get all the air out and try again

x2 on the bleeding. I work for a big trucking company, and sometimes the drivers run the trucks out of diesel... When that happens the truck gets parked for 2 days to let the air out of the lines, or until the mechanics in the shop can bleed it out.
You should just be able to crack the steel lines where they join the heads as the poster above said.
I would try the ether thing too, thats a good way to know if its going to go or not.

i have cracked the injectors and there is fuel there but it isnt starting we have tryed a blow torch down the air intake to warm the heads up a bit but it still isnt going
