Default idle issues

My 96 blazer has been acting funny and need some advice here on what it could be. It was running great till one day i shut it off and went to start it up 10 minutes later and it kept cranking but wouldnt start. then it finally started took it home shut it off and wouldnt start again. Now ive been going out and starting it and it starts fine but the idle jumps from like 2k down to 800. Its leaking a lot more oil than it used to no check engine lights on PLEASE HELP WANT TO DRIVE MY BLAZER AGAIN THANKS!

I would start with a fuel leakdown test. If you don't have one, get a loaner fuel pressure tester from a parts store. Hook it up. Key ON, engine OFF, first 2 seconds when the fuel pump comes on you must have a reading between 60-66psi. Then must remain above 55psi for at least 10 minutes (you never start the engine for this test). Post your results. Though a fuel delivery issue will not set a DTC, you don't mention if you have any DTC codes? That would be good to post also...

I agree with above post. Do you have a black smoke when it starts? As for oil leaking more where is it leaking from? External or Internal?

Well its been starting up every time now and its idling all over the place and smoking but idk if its from being cold or what but its a lot...and im not sure because the idle is higher than usual or not..Im thinkin tps or iac. but wanted to know if anyone else has had this issue. But im not sure about the oil leak thing...its coming from the back of the motor..i had a dodge ram that had similar issues and it was the distributor cap. and it made it leak oil like the blazer is so idk...scrap it or fix it??
