Ignition control module question HELP

Default Ignition control module question HELP

So i posted before stating that my 96 blazer was randomly cutting out going down the highway for a second or two and then catching itself and running just fine i tested the ignition controll module and it did test bad but the truck runs can this really be my issue or is there something more i should be looking for

Typically a bad ICM manifests itself when you try starting the engine when it is hot, causing the ICM to be hot. If you had it tested and it showed to be bad, have you replaced it?

no because i am skeptical of this being the problem ...... being most of the time like you said the truck wont start ...my truck runs it just cuts out once in a while

If it test bad your going to have to change it anyway, so why not try?

times are tight man i dont like throwing money into to dark pits if you know what i mean

The ICM testers are fairly comprehensive. The testers have no way to "judge" if it will still work, it only knows that the ICM is performing outside of its regular parameters. Being out of its regular parameters doesn't mean it won't function it means it is in some stage of failure. Sort of an early warning of immenent failure.

At least that's what the guy who fixed our tester told us...

lol my hobbies are motorcycles and fishing and since i bought a chevy its become more exspensive than both
